Frequently Asked Questions
Can GorillaLine be used outdoors? Will it rust?
Yes. GorillaLine is designed for indoor and outdoor use. The main body is primarily high-quality plastic, and the line itself is stainless steel coated in protective plastic. Many customers use it near lakes and oceans without rust issues.
What is the maximum length of GorillaLine?
GorillaLine extends up to 14.1 feet when fully extended.
How much weight can GorillaLine hold?
GorillaLine can hold up to 40 lbs when properly installed. For maximum strength, installation into a wall stud is recommended, though drywall anchors are included for alternative mounting.
Can I install GorillaLine without drilling (e.g., with adhesive)?
Screw installation is strongly recommended. All 40+ lb weight tests were performed using screws. While some customers use heavy-duty adhesives, GorillaLine’s tested and guaranteed holding capacity is based on screw installation.
Why does the line sag or hangers slide to the middle?
Clotheslines traditionally work best with clothes placed directly on the line using clothespins. When using hangers, sliding toward the center can occur. To reduce sag:
- Slightly over-tension the line before locking
- Ensure proper installation
- Consider using clothespins or tension techniques
- GorillaLine Max includes a tightening feature (GorillaGrip) for additional tension control
Does GorillaLine really help save money on energy bills?
Using GorillaLine instead of a dryer reduces electricity usage every time you air-dry your clothes. Dryers are one of the highest energy-consuming appliances in most homes.
- You lower monthly electricity costs
- You reduce wear and tear on clothing
- You extend garment lifespan
- You reduce heat damage and shrinking
Why choose GorillaLine instead of a traditional drying rack?
Traditional drying racks:
- Take up permanent floor space
- Look bulky and cluttered
- Must be stored when not in use
- Often lack tension and stability
- Retracts when not in use
- Saves floor space
- Stays discreet and minimal
- Provides strong, tensioned support
- Works indoors and outdoors
